Health and Cancer Alternative Treatment Clinic

A friend of mine, who runs a health and healing centre, went to visit the Bio-Medical Center for several weeks in December 2007 to see for himself the facilities on offer and the success rate of their treatments for cancer. I saw him recently and he was blown away by the dedication and caring of the staff who run the clinic AND their success rate which is an 80% cure rate.

A cure in this instance means cancer that has never returned – in some cases in over 32 years or even more. Furthermore, they have had success even in cancers that are notoriously difficult to treat by conventional means AND in cases of pancreatic cancer, which cannot be treated successfully by conventional chemotherapy and radiation.

His visit involved speaking to many of the patients, engaging with the doctors and looking around all the health facilities there are on offer. Ever mindful to keep up to date about the latest alternative treatments for cancer, his visit was a total revelation to him.

I was so impressed by what he told me on his return it inspired me to add this information to the site in order to show what CAN be done when people step outside the box of orthodox medical treatment for cancer. And like the dedicated staff did many years ago, they have defied the critics who say such cures are not possible.

Clinic History

The clinic was established in 1963 in Tijuana, Baja California in Mexico. It is situated less than 3 miles from the U.S/Mexico Border near San Diego, California, with easy access by road and air from all over the United States and other countries. Mildred Nelson set up the clinic having worked closely with Harry M Hoxsey at his clinic in Dallas, Texas in 1946.

Harry Hoxsey himself was a pioneer who healed virtually thousands of cancer patients using his unique healthy herbal approach, passed down from his father, John Hoxsey. It was the first widely used alternative non-toxic treatment for cancer in the United States, and consists of an herbal tonic taken internally as well as a topical salve or powder.

Although many people have not heard of it, this treatment approach was very successful and was actually used by tens of thousands of Americans in the early to mid 1900s. Around 1953, the main Hoxsey Clinic had 12,000 patients and was the largest private cancer centre in the world. There were also subsidiary clinics in 17 other states.

Patients with external cancers were treated with a salve or paste and also given an internal tonic. People with internal cancers were given the herbal tonic with advice about healthy dietary changes and nutritional health supplements.

However, despite the success of his treatments he was constantly being arrested for practicing without a medical license. However his efforts to get a medical license was also extremely difficult as he was barred from medical schools as a result of treating people who came to him begging for treatment who he was reluctant to turn away. Truly a catch-22 situation.

Technically he ran his clinics legally as he always maintained a supervising physician with a valid license. But despite this, Harry Hoxsey is said to have been arrested more times than any other person in medical history! Unfortunately for Hoxsey the American Medical Association was just coming into its own as a powerful organisation and was the main vehicle used for discrediting Hoxsey, saying his cures were nothing more than quackery. Journal articles published also denounced him and any physician who wanted to follow his therapy protocol was threatened with being barred from medical practice.

What saved him was the success of his treatment and the fact that with thousands of grateful healthy patients, No one would testify against him! In fact, every time he was arrested, groups of his cancer patients would gather outside the jail as a show of support. Eventually he would be released.

Over the years Mildred expanded the Bio Medical Centre hiring and training a staff of fully licensed English speaking MDs. She also assembled Professional health support personnel to see to the care and medical needs of patients who visit the centre.

Most of the original medical staff and support personnel have remained through the years and the clinic continues to provide accessible and economical medical help. Before her death Mildred Nelson took steps to continue Harry Hoxsey’s legacy by appointing her sister Liz Jones as administrator.

The Treatments Available

The treatments available at the Bio Medical Center include herbs, special diets, vitamins and minerals. The diets are all worked out specifically for the individual. Lifestyle counselling, positive attitude and conventional medical treatments are also available when indicated. The clinic has modern diagnostic methods including extensive laboratory analysis, x-rays, ultrasound, CT scans and other studies as needed on an individual patient.

Once an accurate diagnosis has been made, the doctors will outline a special health program that works to strengthen the impaired immune system. By rebalancing and normalising a patient’s metabolism, the treatments at the Bio Medical Centre give the body a chance to heal itself – often without resorting to more toxic debilitating treatments.

While it should be kept in mind that each patient’s illness, prognosis and outcomes are different, and no hospital or clinic can guarantee a 100 percent chance of recovery, there is plenty of evidence that many patients – some arriving at the clinic in very late stages of the disease – have been helped and their disease brought under control by the treatments available at the Bio Medical centre.

The diets are easy to follow and specific targeted supplements are also supplied at the same time and all included in the overall cost.

Treatment Cost

The cost of the Hoxsey therapy is $3500 dollars (Approximately £1,800 sterling). This includes all the herbal tonic and supplements you are likely to need for the next 6 months and beyond for as long as you need them. One third of this is to be paid on the first visit; the remaining balance is split into two payments payable on your next two visits – or every six months. The charges for the laboratory, x-rays and physical examination vary between $400 (approx £220) and $900 (approx £470) and these charges are to be paid in full on the day of the examination.

These are very cost effective charges when you consider that orthodox treatment in the United States is far more expensive and the success rate and treatment is so very different. Conventional treatment in the UK on the NHS is free at the point of use, but alternative treatment for cancer is available from private clinics only and not available on the NHS. If UK patients decide to opt for alternative treatment they would have to compare the costs to find out if it would be more cost effective to travel to Mexico.

Treatments are carried out on a day basis (it is not a hospital). It should be noted here that other cancer centres in Mexico often claim that they offer the same treatment but they are definitely NOT the same and in many cases are more expensive and not as effective.
